Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold made a triumphant return from injury by captaining Liverpool to a 2-0 victory against Union Saint-Gilloise. Liverpool started strongly, with Mohamed Salah setting up Darwin Nunez, who missed an early opportunity.
